The main purpose of the event was the presentation and exchange of views by representatives of the public and private sector regarding a number of critical issues such as the recovery of the tourism sector after the pandemic under the pressure of ongoing crises (geopolitical instability, inflation, climate change), maintaining the competitiveness of the EU as a tourist destination, the need for sustainable and digital transformation of the tourism ecosystem as a whole, and the emergence of new opportunities. Representatives of international and national organizations, tourism bodies, and private companies active in the tourism sector, among others, participated in the event.

World Tourism Organization and European Travel Commission. Measuring Resident Satisfaction-Webinar

The main objective of the seminar was to address the challenges raised in measuring the satisfaction of residents in tourist destinations as well as the methodology developed for measuring this magnitude by national tourism bodies and private companies. Representatives of the national tourism development organization of Ireland, the Czech Tourism Institute, and the private sector participated in the seminar.

World Tourism Organization, Baseline Report on Climate Action in Tourism-Consultation on the draft report

During the event, the methodology and key findings of the global survey conducted in 2021 were presented, aiming to understand and depict the efforts made by the tourism ecosystem for mitigation, adaptation, and response to the impacts of climate change and the challenges raised at the level of measurement and planning. The results of the survey were reflected in the Baseline Report on Climate Action in Tourism published in 2022.

Following the publication of the policy paper titled "Sustainable development of the tourism sector in the ADRION macro-region. Strategic proposal for the programming period 2021-2027" within the framework of the EU cross-border cooperation program (Interreg ADRION), a thematic workshop was held during the European Week of Regions and Cities regarding ways for the sustainable development of cultural tourism after the pandemic, with an emphasis on the use of sustainable transport means. During the workshop, a summary presentation of the findings of a survey on short-distance tourism, the SUSTOURISMO application developed within the framework of the Interreg ADRION Program, etc. was made.
